40 Kisses, 7 Years: Earth Bodies Drawing Down the Moon in the Age of the [Anthropocene] Chthulucene
From the press release:
"In 40 Kisses, 7 Years: Earth Bodies Drawing Down the Moon in the Age of the [Anthropocene] Chthulucene, Michael J. Morris, Visiting Assistant Professor of Dance at Denison University, offers a dance with which to think about systems of support and how bodies come near to one another, move together, move apart and come back together. Five dancers cycle through tasks, states and choreographic configurations derived from discourses addressing climate change, gender politics and witchcraft to ask: how might our bodies be moved by the world of which we are a part and the stories we tell about it?"
Choreography: Michael J. Morris
Performers: Chelsea Chen, Tanvi Doshi, Briahna Lawson, Alex Rivera, and Meghan Tenorio
Text: Anohni, Donna J. Haraway, Margot Adler, Starhawk
Costumes: Reused from Department of Dance, Ohio thrift, Volunteers of America, and dancers' own
